Your adventure begins at Santiago International Airport early in the morning. APT guides will be waiting for you. Please make sure that you book a flight which arrives at Chile before 10:00 AM. After meeting everybody, APT guides will briefly introduce you to the Chilean culture while taking you on a striking drive through neighborhoods such as Vitacura and Las Condes. This drive will follow the Mapocho River Canyon all the way into the Central Andes to the small village of Farellones, and into Valle Nevado Resort. We will check in at Tres Puntas Hotel and enjoy a perfect afternoon skiing the slopes of this world class Ski resort. Lodging at Tres Puntas Hotel includes breakfast, lunch express, dinner, lift tickets for Valle Nevado ski area, outdoor heated pool, game room, movie theater, fitness center, ski lockers and a disco-bar.
Second Day:
Ski & boarding the Three Valleys of the Central Andes
Today we wake up early to enjoy a fabulous breakfast and head straight to the hills. We will have lift tickets for the 3 valleys of the Central Andes: Valle Nevado, La Parva, and El Colorado; altogether, being the biggest skiing area in South America. After lunch, APT guides will take you to classic local runs of the Central Andes such as Valle Olimpico, Valle del Inca, and El Dedo. Conditions and group skills permitting, we will safely explore the Andean backcountry by having a few short hikes from the top of Valle del Inca to classic Andean Peaks such as La Parva Falsa and La Parva. If you are up to a longer hike it is possible to reach the summit of el Pintor. From where you will be able to see higher Andean peaks such as La Leonera, El Plomo, Bismark, El Altar, La Paloma, and the Aconcagua. At night you will enjoy a great dinner of your choice from the many international restaurants offered in Valle Nevado Resort.
Third day:
Secret spots in the Central Andes
This is our last day in the Central Andes, thus we will be targeting the secret local powder stashes. Anywhere from big wide mellow open bowls to tight steep chutes, APT guides will take you to the best spots of the day. With the right conditions APT guides will take you to Cerro Tambo, Santa Teresita, El Canal, El Estadio, and other secret spots whose names shall be later revealed. At night, your Central Andes experience will conclude by relaxing yourself soaking at the outdoor heated pool, hanging at your hotel room, enjoying the resort, or just remembering the great runs and new friends you made that day.
Fourth Day:
Following the Andes to the south into Nevados de Chillan
After breakfast we will be saying adios to our new amigos of Valle Nevado. We will board on our comfortable APT vans to take our drive south, following the Andes into Las Trancas Valley and then to Nevados de Chillan. We will stop halfway for a great Chilean-style meal at the Miguel Torres Winery Resturant. Once in Nevados de Chillan we will check in at the Pirigallo Hotel, have some dinner, and finally soak at the Resort’s hot springs pools under a South American moon.
Fifth, sixth and seventh Day:
Exploring the endless possibilities of the Nevados de Chillan Mountain Chain in the South Central Andes
Wake up early so that your Andean Powder Turns continue exploring one of the most amazing ski terrains in South America. Named by friendly outside sources as the Powder Capital of South America, Nevados de Chillan, is a truly backcountry dreamland consisting of endless hills, valleys, and stunning mountain formations formed by the ancient Andean Volcanoes. Situated strategically in front of the Pacific Ocean, Nevados de Chillan receives regular snow falls followed by blue sky mornings. During these three days, we will explore this fantastic terrain in the middle of the South Central Andes. If the circumstances allow, APT guides will introduce you to incredible spots such as Roca del Elefante, Corniza Pirigallo, and Tres Marias which is the longest run in South America. In Nevados de Chillan, expect to ride open runs, wide mellow bowls, native tree lines, and tons of amazing untouched Andean powder.
Eighth day:
Sightseeing and drive back to Santiago
We will wake up early and start driving back to Santiago. You will have time to review some of the pictures of the trip, and request copies for you and your friends. On the way, we will stop at La Cueva de los Pincheria (Pincherias’ cave) and enjoy a beautiful natural waterfall which involves a local legend. Then, we will continue sightseeing, and browse the traditional Artisan Market in Chillan, followed by lunch. After a short drive, we will arrive at Santiago International Airport around 7 PM.
